Enrico IV, based on Luigi Pirandello’s play, explores the blurring lines between madness and reality. The opera follows a man who falls from his horse, believes himself to be the medieval emperor Henry IV, and lives in a constructed reality for twenty years. The score brings to life the psychological complexities of the characters.
